The Bangladesh Enterprise Institute, with educational partner Scolastica School, can reach students at the secondary, university and career levels, through partners and schools in Dhaka and other major cities. BEI would like to bring the “Golden Age Leadership Dynamics” course to some or all of these students using a mix of traditional classroom and online instruction, in English and perhaps local languages. Depending on levels of resources available, BEI could present the material in either 4 separate or 1 combined learning module, reaching between 500 and 100,000 future and current business leaders. Depending on resources available, JMI has offered to help create and deliver secondary and university level English and national language learning modules on “Golden Age Leadership Models”, “Principles of Coexistence” and “Modern Leadership Models”. Depending on resources available, JMI could reach at least 1000 and up to millions more students nationwide, as soon as late 2006. Were sufficient levels of support available, these materials could be delivered in multimedia form, such as book, television, Web products, etc. (www.jmi.nic.in)

UNITED STATES PROJECT 1:
A secondary and/or university level learning module on “Contributions of Muslim Civilization”.

Gov. Bill Richardson supports introduction of a learning module “Contributions of Muslim Civilization” to help New Mexicans understand the importance, breadth and richness of Muslim civilization. The module could be developed solely by NFP, or in partnership with the University of New Mexico School of Education. The module would be tested with a partner secondary school, and then offered for licensing to 97 New Mexico school districts. Because of New Mexico’s historical linkage to Muslim Andalusia in Spain, special focus could be given to that era. The pilot module would reach up to 1000 students, and the final course could reach 50,000 New Mexico secondary students, plus more university students. After development, the course could be licensed by NFP to other school systems in the U.S., potentially reaching millions of American students. The pilot could be offered beginning fall 2006, and statewide and nationally in 2007. (www.unm.edu)

OTHER NATIONAL/REGIONAL/GLOBAL PROJECTS
Conflict mitigation, leadership development, cross-cultural understanding

Government sources like Canada’s CIDA, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Institute of Peace, as well as United Nations and other multilateral sources and private foundations have ongoing grant programs to fund projects in areas like leadership development, education reform, peace leadership, conflict resolution and cross-cultural understanding in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. NFP intends to consider all such opportunities that are relevant to its mission, but that do not compromise its independent, non-sectarian and nonpartisan nature.
